Our current Governor, Mark
Sanford, is well liked by South Carolina. He is known for
encouraging a small slow state government that keeps as much
power as possible in the hands of the people. As of May
2008, he had a U.S. Constitution score of 87%. This means he
made Constitutionally correct decisions 87% of the
time. We consider that a high rating. We support Governor
Sanford and appreciate the up-hill battle that he has had
with our current delegation from Oconee and Pickens County.
They have continually nullified his efforts to stop their
spending sprees by overriding Governor Sanford’s vetoes to
take the fat (pork) out of our current government.
In the past 3 years,
government has grown by 41% ($3,000,000,000.00 – 3 Billion
Dollars). South Carolina families cannot sustain these cuts
in their income. A rise in government spending equals a cut
in your take-home pay. Your current delegation is directly
responsible for these drops in your pay. For a detailed
description of how my opponent, Thomas Alexander, voted,
please go to
South Carolina Senate's 2008 Scorecard.
As you will see, several of our state senators and house of
representatives got an F rating. Some of these delegates
were replaced at the primaries when the people realized they
had been betrayed by their local delegation. I hope you will
use the power of your vote to bring stability back to Oconee
and Pickens County.
Please go to Issues to find
an open letter why I am running for state senator and what I
intend to do as your senator. Thank you!
